2022/23 Premier League season
The English Premier League may have just ended but, the excitement for the 2022/23 season is going strong. With transfer news on our minds, the new fixtures for the next season have been released. So let’s take a look at what to expect from the next season.
When does the 2022/23 EPL season start
The season will kick off on Friday 5 August 2022. The good news is that is only 7 weeks away. The season starts with an opening match of Crystal Palace taking on Arsenal.

August 6 – Saturday
- Fulham v Liverpool
- Leeds v Wolves
- Leicester v Brentford
- Newcastle v Nottingham Forest
- Tottenham v Southampton
- Everton v Chelsea
August 7 – Sunday
- Manchester United v Brighton
- West Ham v Manchester City
EPL 2022/23 dates to diarise
Current Champions Manchester City will meet their 2021/22 title rivals Liverpool at Anfield on October 15 before hosting Klopp’s side on April 1.
Liverpool has an early-season match-up away to rivals Manchester United on August 20
The Manchester derby and north London derby are both being played on the weekend of October 1
Due to the World Cup in Qatar, later this year the Premier League season will pause for the first time after the weekend of November 12/13. The season will resume on 26 December when the World Cup has finished (the World Cup Final is on 18 December)
The EPL’s final match day will be played on Sunday, May 28.
