The 2021 British Grand Prix will take place in Silverstone which is a village and civil parish in Northamptonshire, England on July 18.
This will be the 10th round of the 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship season and it will be held at the Silverstone Circuit.
In December 2020, British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) named the pit straight at the Silverstone Circuit after Lewis Hamilton in recognition of his achievements.
Mercedes driver Hamilton won the last year’s British Grand Prix and he was followed by Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who finished second and third respectively.
Verstappen is sitting at the top of the Drivers’ Championship standings having won the most recent race in the 2021 season which was the Austrian Grand Prix on July 4.
The Belgian star was followed by Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas and McLaren-Mercedes’ Lando Norris, who finished second and third respectively in Austria.
Hamilton and Red Bull Racing’s Sergio Perez, who finished sixth at the Austrian Grand Prix, are placed second and third respectively on the Drivers’ Championship standings.
Sixth-placed Leclerc finished eighth at the Austrian Grand Prix with teammate Carlos Sainz Junior claiming fifth on an alternate strategy.
“We were a little bit less strong compared to last week, but we were still very strong, and I think it was positive,” Leclerc said.
“We didn’t look much in the mirrors and I think the only shame was that we were on the same strategies as the one in front, so no tyre advantage by doing a reverse strategy.
“But it paid off for Carlos, so I think we did a good thing to do the split of cars at the beginning of this race.”
Red Bull Racing-Honda are placed at the top of the Constructors’ Championship standings and they were followed by Mercedes and McLaren-Mercedes respectively.
