Chippa United will look to break their run of draws in the Absa Premiership when they host Orlando Pirates at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on 25 February 2018, kick-off at 15h30.

Chippa were held 0-0 away to Baroka FC on February 17, their fifth successive draw (and a sixth game unbeaten in their current run). The Eastern Cape side has recorded 12 draws from their 21 league matches this season.

The Chilli Boys have claimed 15 points from 11 home matches this season. Their last turn as hosts produced a scintillating 3-3 draw with relegation battlers Platinum Stars earlier this month.

Pirates claimed a fourth win from their last six league matches when they defeated Maritzburg United 2-1 at home on February 4. The Soweto giants have picked up 13 points from the last 18 up for grabs to move strongly up the table.

The Buccaneers have claimed just 13 points from 10 away matches this season, with their last game on the road resulting in a 3-0 loss at strugglers Ajax Cape Town at the end of last month.

In head-to-head stats, Chippa and Pirates have met in nine league matches since 2012/13. The Buccaneers have claimed five wins compared to three for the Chilli Boys, while just one game has been drawn. The Eastern Cape side has won two of four home matches in the rivalry, suffering one defeat in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, Pirates claimed a 1-0 home win thanks to a goal from Thamsanqa Gabuza. It was a third successive victory for the Buccaneers over the Chilli Boys in league football.
