SUPER RUGBY ROUND UP: WEEK 12
The Sharks showed us what they are really made of this past weekend when they put in a superb performance against the Highlanders. This was an important win for the Cell C Sharks and they secured an added bonus point for their 5 tries, the final score for this exciting game was 38-12. The Sharks moved to the third position with a total of 23, just one point ahead of the Stormers.
The Stormers also secured a win on the weekend when they beat the Bulls 29-17. This was skipper Siya Kolisi’s 100th match for the team and Scarra Ntubeni earned his 50th cap for the squad. The Stormers were looking for a win and secured the lead 12-0 before the Bulls managed to start putting points on the board. In true traditional South African derby style, the Stormers kept fighting back and secured a 29-17 win over the men from Pretoria.
The Emirates Lions took on the Hurricanes in Wellington but an early loss of hooker Malcolm Marx put the team on the back foot. Malcolm went off after just eight minutes with a groin injury and will be heading back home missing the final game of the Lions tour. Even though the Lions lost 28-19 they are still leading the South African conference with 31 points.
