SUPER RUGBY ROUND UP: WEEK 13

The Sharks and Bulls faced off with the Bulls emerging yet again victorious over the coastal team.  The 39-33 game was action packed with the Bulls scoring five tries and the Sharks managing three. This marks the fifth victory for the Bulls and the late penalty conversion secured the Sharks a valuable bonus point.

The DHL Stormers had their first home defeat on the weekend when they lost 15-9 to the Chiefs. Questions have been raised around the game with regards to Sanzaar’s decision to assign a Kiwi ref to a game with a New Zealand team. The game was not totally biased but some dubious calls were made with regards to the scrums that involved Steven Kitshoff. The director of Stormers Gert Smal Rugby will be laying a complaint:

‘I’m not happy with the referee’s performance, it wasn’t good enough,’

Down under the Lions continued there run of bad luck with a loss against the Highlanders in Dunedin. The half-time score was 19-14 with the Lions scoring two tries just before the breaking helping to close the gap. However, it wasn’t enough and the game ended with a 39-27 score.
