What you need to know about the Premier League 2021/22 Season
The season is over, what do we do with all our free time? There are officially 11 weekends to go until the EPL season will resume, mark Saturday 14 August 2021 in your calendar.
How the 2020/21 EPL season ended
Man City was crowned Champions again ending the season with an impressive run of 21 straight wins in all competitions between the months of December and March. Pep has had an impressive run as Manager of the Club and they now look to adding the Champions League title to their collection this weekend.
The battle for top four took place the entire season with the following teams claiming their spots:
- Manchester City
- Manchester United
- Liverpool
- Chelsea
Golden Boot
The Golden Boot was claimed by Harry Kane, who secured the win when he scored in Spurs final match against Leicester City. This was also Kanes final match for Tottenham who has not confirmed where Kane is headed. Mo Salah took the second spot for Golden Boot with Bruno Fernandes ending in third.
The relegated three
We say goodbye to three teams as the season closes with newcomers Fulham and Sheffield United leaving the league and West Brom also bidding farewell.
Three promoted teams
After a year’s absence, the Premier League will welcome back Norwich City and Watford who have claimed their promotion spots. While Brentford and Swansea will battle it out in the Champions play-offs to determine the final spot.
2021/22 English Premier League dates
The EPL dates for the next season are start date Saturday 14 August 2021 and will end on Sunday 22 May 2021.
2021/22 EPL Fixtures
The fixtures are set to be announced on Wednesday 16 June 2021.
Summer Transfer window
The Premier League confirmed the transfer dates for this summer and the window will open on 9 June for 12 weeks closing on 31 August.
